Three bright blue crabs emerging from their burrows at low tide to forage and engage in territorial displays. Far from being camouflaged, this species is quite conspicuous; they are very alert to the movement and shadows of potential predators.   The density of crabs and other invertebrates in mangrove forests is quite amazing.   Mangrove pneumatophores sprout among the burrows.
