Overview
Our Biological Sciences minor is structured to ensure you are exposed to a basic core of knowledge over the breadth of biological fields from molecular biology through ecology. This minor is intended for students majoring outside of biological sciences to enhance their experience at Illinois State by completing coursework and acquiring laboratory skills in several topical areas that contribute to the biological sciences. Through your individualized choice of electives, you will find our minor provides a comprehensive and interdisciplinary curriculum.
Why Study Biological Sciences?
Biology is the science of living matter. It involves the study of functions, physiology, genetics, and evolutionary developments of plants, animals, and microorganisms. The majority of biologists are engaged in research and development. The biological sciences are good preparation for a career in healthcare, such as medicine, dentistry, and veterinary science, as well as education.
