A white-faced capuchin monkey sits upon a limb.  Although common in places like Costa Rica's Manuel Antonio National Park, both spider monkeys and howler monkeys are more common at La Selva.  These fruit foraging monkeys travel considerable distances through the forest seeking the best fruit, as a result they are efficient dispersers of tree seed.  The larger, more sessile howler monkeys are foliage eaters.  The easiest way to find monkeys is to walk through the forest and look up when fruit begins to fall from a tree.
